HELENE GARDE
PROFESSOR -
Anne Helene Garde is a professor at The National Research Centre for the Working Environment in Denmark. Her research primarily relates to health effects of work environment exposure with special focus on effects of working time arrangements e.g. night work related circadian disruption and psychophysiology. Main questions are if night work is a risk factor for disease and accidents and how night work should be scheduled in order to minimise this risk. She has experience with development, validation and quality assurance of clinical chemistry methods and biological variation such as variation related to life-style and seasonal variation. She is a skilled epidemiologist and have used questionnaire and national health register data to study health outcomes e.g. ischemic heart disease and all-cause mortality and sickness absence.
